You remember the days when the biggest problem you ever faced was waking up early to watch early morning cartoons, and it’ll feel like the end of the world whenever you missed an episode? Kids these days don’t know the struggle of having to wake up early because of their so called internet and video streaming (darn kids) Well get ready for a trip down memory lane, cos here’s a list of the best animated series of the 90’s
1. Street Sharks (1994-1997)
The 90’s had a lot (and I mean A LOT) of mutated animal heroes. Seems like kids then really loved badass crime fighting animals. Well who wouldn’t be, right? Well Street Sharks is about 4 brothers who were turned into half human-half shark mutants, who battle Dr. Paradigm to protect the world from his evil clutches. There’s also a killer whale and manta ray mutant teenager. Do I need to say more?
2. Swat Kats (1993-1995)
Next on the list is another crime fighting animal humanoids, “Swat Kats” is about a pair of cats that are mechanics by day, crime fighters by night that protect Megakat City from any danger using state of the art tech.
3. Biker Mice from Mars (1993-1995)
Three alien humanoid mice (we really had a thing for talking humanoid animals back then) were forced to abandon their home: planet Mars, because of the evil Plutarkian race, they decide to call earth (namely the city of Chicago) as their new home and protect it from any evil-doers.
4. X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997)
Who doesn’t know the X-Men? Due to the recent success of the Hollywood blockbusters, everybody knows about the team of super-powered mutant heroes that protect the earth and humankind from any threats including other mutants.
5. Johnny Bravo (1997-2004)
Johhny Bravo is about the outrageously funny adventures of an extremely dumb blonde narcissist that thinks he’s the hottest thing in town. “Ohhh, Mama!”
6. Digimon: Digital Monsters (1999-2003)
A group of kids are sent to the Digital World were they are paired up with their very own monsters called the Digimon. They use their Digimon to battle other evil Digimon and to save the world.
7. Hey Arnold! (1996-2004)
Arnold is your average 4th grade kid that lives in a city that has an uncanny resemblance to Brooklyn. He, together with his grandparents live in a multi-racial apartment building with quirky neighbors and friends.
8. Pinky and the Brain (1995-1998)
Another cartoon that have mutated talking animals. “Pinky and the Brain” is about a genius evil mouse and his dumb sidekick that try to conquer the world.
9.Dexter’s Laboratory (1996-2003)
Dexter is your average kid, well except for the fact that he’s a super genius that has a laboratory that would put NASA to shame. What always bothered me with Dexter’s Laboratory was: where did Dexter get all the money for all his gadgets? Well who cares…
10. Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1995)
Now this is my all time favorite cartoon, and maybe the reason why I love Batman so much. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should!
