Many people struggle with tasks that others consider simple on a day to day basis. Perhaps you can’t find your house key when it’s mixed in on a keychain with a plethora of other keys or maybe you just have a lot of trouble getting hard boiled eggs to peel. There are tons of life hacks out there, but some are much better than others and no one ever seems to be familiar with them. Here are 18 life hacks you wish you knew before to make things so much easier for you.

If you have children that are prone to falling out of bed at night but you do not want to spend money on one of those annoying bed sides, save yourself some money and keep your child safe with a pool noodle placed inside a fitted sheet.

Peeling eggs is never easy and they usually wind up looking quite a mess by time you’re done. Save yourself the headache and make the job much easier by adding a teaspoon of baking soda to the water when the eggs are being cooked. It will make the shells practically slide off.

If you hate having warm wine but you do not want to wait for it to cool in the ice box and you don’t want to water it down with ice, freeze some grapes to drop in it so it will cool. They won’t take away from the taste at all and even look pretty in a wine glass.

Wet nail polish has the tendency to smudge and get all over, so if you are in a hurry to get it dry and you have some Pam Cooking Spray, use it to spray on your nails. It will dry and set the polish much quicker so you can get on with your life.

New Shoes

If you have new shoes that are uncomfortable and hurting your feet and you are anxious to break them in quickly, get a heavy pair of socks, a blow dryer and the shoes. Put the shoes on with the socks and aim the blow dryer on them for about 5 minutes. Let the shoes on your feet while they cool down and they’ll be much more comfortable.

Sponges have a way of getting really nasty, really fast, especially when they do not dry properly and they can’t dry properly when they’re laying down. Use a binder clip to hold your sponge up so it can dry all the way through.

Making pancakes tends to be a messy task, but you can make it much easier to get the batter into the pan by using an empty ketchup bottle to squirt the batter. You can even store left over batter this way if you want to.

Shelf

If you don’t want to take up the entire top shelf of your fridge with bottles, get a binder clip and lay them down in a stack. They will take up less room and stay in place.

Shoe Organizer

A shoe organizer is a great way to store all of your cleaning products that would otherwise take up a great deal of room in a cupboard. Because you’ll be able to see all of your products, you will be more likely to clean, as well.

A whole shirt can be ruined when a button falls off, but if you want to prevent the button from coming off in the first place and save your shirt. Get some clear nail polish and paint over the button so that it will not unravel and fall off.

Sandwiches are delicious but when you have areas of bread with nothing on them, things get boring fast. If you want meat on every bite of your sandwich, take two round pieces and cut them in half, placing one half on each end of the bread.
