I don’t understand why people get all up in arms about black Friday? I mean, do you really need all that stuff? It’s just going to clutter up your houses and drive you crazy? And yet, people go crazy for stuff. But, what they don’t realize is that many times, those great deals they’re getting, really aren’t all that awesome. The electronics are usually sub-par or lesser quality and it’s usually not all that worth it. Here’s 19 reasons why Black Friday sucks so much.
1. People are freaking exhausted
No one likes getting up before the crack of dawn to go shopping. But, shopping at 3am or 5am isn’t even a thing anymore– nowadays, it’s all about shopping ON Thanksgiving. What a joke. We feel bad for all those employees who are missing time out from their loved ones so that you can shop.
2. It overshadows the giving spirit of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is all about giving back to others and sharing a delicious meal. Now, people think it’s all about scoring a deal on a giant TV. Is this really what’s most important in life?
3. It puts people in a really bad mood
Nobody likes shopping for hours at a time, waiting for stores to open or standing in really long lines. This is essentially what black Friday is.
4. Who likes shopping in huge crowds? Nobody.
People get annoyed when they can’t find what they want or it runs out. Why not just quit going out and shop online instead?
5. Kids think Christmas is all about gifts
You’re masking the real reason for Christmas with all your commercialism. Stop it, now.
6. You have to wait out in the cold
This time of year it’s really cold in most places. So, waiting around in the cold– not so fun.
7. The deals aren’t always as good as advertised
Marketers have lots of tricks up their sleeves to make a sale look better than it really is. Sure, you’ll get a deal, but it might not be worth it.
8. Huge corporate companies just want to turn a profit
They don’t care about how long you waited outside or in line or how their product broke as soon as you got home. They just want your money.
9. Kids aren’t into it
They would much rather be spending quality time with you over their holiday break, than sitting on the floor of a store so you can get more stuff.
10. Massive crowds
Ugh. Just seeing this photo makes me shudder. Who would want to be in the middle of that awful crowd?
11. People get trampled
It happens every year now. Are new things really so important that we value them more than we value people’s lives?
12. It’s just stuff
You don’t need it that badly.
13. Your face ends up looking like this guy
He’s bored out of his mind and irritated after missing out on the product that he wanted. He could have spent his morning sleeping in, but this happened for him instead.
14. People are in your way everywhere you go
When you can’t even walk because there are so many people around, you know its way too crowded.
15. Nobody cares about you
Instead of making the holidays about sharing gifts with others, spreading love and cheer and giving kind acts of service, you’ve turned it into a holiday all about yourself. And nobody cares.
