Polish artist Jakub Rózalski is a talented painter and concept artist whose amazing project “1920+” has enjoyed critical acclaim around the world, mainly for its unique combination of two very different worlds: early 20th century Polish countryside and giant mechs and robots. According to Rózalski, this series of dystopian paintings is his creative take on the Polish-Soviet War (1919-1921)) that pitted Soviet Russia and Soviet Ukraine against the Second Polish Republic and the Ukrainian People’s Republic.
Rózalski’s sublime imagery is anachronism at its best fantastical best as the future bullies its way into the traditional European countryside. Check out these amazing sci-fi countryside paintings of Jakub Rózalski that will make you realize how badly the 1920s needed some giant mechs.
