We just can’t get over the 90’s, can we? It was such a great time for all of us millennials. You see, we were still kids back then and life was easy as could be. We had no worries, except finding the coolest new Beanie Baby or learning how to style our hair just like Christina and Britney. Here are 20 beauty products owned by every girl in the 90’s.
1. Conair curling sticks
You dreamed of having effortless and fabulous curly hair and knew these would be the answer to all of your problems. Little did you know that these curlers would actually cause more stress and concern than usefulness. Either you looked like you just got an epic perm or your hair didn’t really take the curl at all. Ugh.
2. Noxzema cleansing cream
The best way to cleanse your face…at least until you started getting acne…
3. St. Ives Apricot Scrub
This stuff was revolutionary. No one had ever thought of putting scrubbing beads inside a cleanser until these came out. They were literally flying off the shelves.
4. Neutrogena face bar
If your skin was really acting up, you got yourself one of these babies. This orange color is now synonymous with fighting blemishes.
5. For those of us who wanted blonde highlights, but didn’t want to go to a salon
Everyone spent so much time outside in the sun in the summer time, that using Sun In was the best way to lighten up your hair. Unless you didn’t leave it in long enough and got some orange streaks. That was no good.
6. Lip Smackers
This was the only way to go as far as lip balm was concerned. These came in hundreds of flavors, tasted good and kept your lips shiny and new. Best beauty product ever!
7. Bath and Body Works lotion
You weren’t a true 90’s girl if you didn’t own at least a few things from Bath and Body Works. This was like the best store ever if you liked things that smell good.
8. Teen Spirit deodorant
“Does something smell like teen spirit?” “Oh yeah, don’t worry about it, it’s my deodorant.”
9. Sunflowers perfume by Elizabeth Arden
The 90’s was the golden age for sunflower power. This soft perfume was all the rage.
10. Rave hairspray
It was cheap and it worked. That was enough to make Rave a great buy at the grocery store.
11. Dep styling gel
You probably didn’t use too much of this, but you know a lot of boys who did. Gel was the only way to style men’s hair well in the 90’s.
12. Crimped hair
This was THE look. Crimps were so carefree-looking and reminiscent of 70’s vibes.
13. Herbal Essences shampoo
The commercial made it sound like washing your hair was a sexual awakening. So, naturally, every girl around bought the shampoo out of curiosity.
14. Urban Decay Heavy Metal eyeliner
Body glitter was not enough– we just had to have glittery eyeliner too. Because it’s really safe putting glitter so close to your eyeballs.
This is what every girl used to store all her makeup and beauty items in. I mean, every single girl had one of these.
16. Shimmer powder puff
Think of this as the softer version to body glitter. It left you with shimmering skin and smelling like a baby’s bottom. Isn’t that great?
17. Gap perfume
This was Gap’s golden age and everything they sold– even their perfume– was considered cool.
18. Wet N Wild Black Eyeliner
Because this pencil was cheap and provided a solid black line that was great for smudging.
19. MAC Lipglass
This was the coolest lip gloss around and only the coolest girls had it because what mom wants to buy MAC cosmetics for her pre-teen?
20. Brown Maybelline lip liner
Everyone owned this pencil in the 90’s. No matter what color lipstick you wore, you would always prime your lips with this brown pencil.
