Classical Paintings Re-imagined With Superheroes

Worth1000 is an awesome website that frequently holds art and photo-shopping contests. One of the popular categories is “Superhero ModRen”, where the website’s community members were challenged to recreate Classic Renaissance paintings with their favorite superheroes. Some of the entries resulted in stunning and clever recreations where Superman and Batman meet the masters like Van Gogh and Monet. Some, like the Gotham version of the classic painting “Nighthawks” is, in my opinion, an improvement on the original.

For your enjoyment, we’ve gathered 30 of the best of these “remastered” classics. May we present, Superheroes in Classical Paintings.
