Cooking Hacks That Will Blow Your Mind


Do you spend a lot of time in the kitchen?  If you love to cook (or even if you just really love to eat) you need to have at least a few tricks to speed up your cooking process. Here are 19 cooking hacks that will blow your mind.  Go ahead– become a pro in the kitchen!

1. Cool whip shapes

Make shapes out of cool whip with cookies cutters and put them in the freezer.  They look adorable in a cup of hot cocoa.

2. Make your own taco shells

Make taco shells by placing tortillas facing down in an oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

3. Salt shaker

Make this cute salt shaker by adding a salt lid to a mason jar.  Cute and functional!

4. Make a perfect golden boiled egg every time

Shake a raw egg vigorously for about a minute, then boil it and it will come out golden-colored every single time.

5. Keep the sugar soft

Keep your brown sugar from getting hard by putting some marshmallows or a slice of bread inside the container.

6. Easy grilled salmon

For salmon that doesn’t stick, grill it on top of lemon slices.  It will flavor the fish and keep it from sticking to the metal.

7. Lemon water cubes

Freeze slices of lemon and water for instantly cool chilled water with a hint of lemon.

13. Cut easily

Cut an avocado the right way by slicing it in half, taking out the pit with a knife and then slicing the avocado while its still in the skin.  Then just scoop it out with a spoon.

15. Herbs and olive oil

Preserve fresh herbs by putting them in ice cub trays with olive oil and freezing them.  Then, every time you’re ready for some fresh herbs and oil, pop a cube into a frying pan and you’re on your way!

Soak noodles for up to an hour or even overnight before cooking them– that way, they’ll only take up to a minute to cook!

Put a wet towel or cloth underneath a cutting board to keep it from sliding around when you’re cutting.
