2. Freeze toys in a giant ice cube and then have fun watching kids get them out
Let them use anything they want (hammers, chisels etc). This doesn’t have to be just for kids either!
3. Give your ice cubes a makeover
Freezing ice cubes in different shapes can make them seem more fun, as can freezing them with fruit, herbs, or citrus. It will give your drink a special kick and make everything nice and chilly.
4. Get yourself a bed fan
That’s right, a fan made especially for your bed. This thing blows air into your sheets all night long, keeping you cool as can be. Miserable summer nights will be a thing of the past!
5. Mark your water bottle
Give yourself times or amounts that you need to drink. This will help you stay hydrated, keep headaches at bay and allow you to get work done faster.
6. Make your own water stick
A pool noodle, some PVC pipe and a water hose will give you some nice sprinkler action for those unbearably hot days.
7. Homemade water slide
A tarp can become a makeshift water slide when placed underneath a slide. Kids will love sliding face first into the water, and you should try it too!
8. Water pillows
Make a water pillow for each kid– it’s the same thing as #1 but on a smaller scale. These would be fun to play with and a great way to stay cool.
9. Bottle sprinkler
Cut holes in an old bottle and attach it to a hose with tape. Then enjoy the spray and run through the sprinklers for a good time!
10. Water volleyball
With this water-spraying net, you can get soaked and play volleyball all day long.
11. Play water games
In this game, two teams have frozen t-shirts that they have to thaw and then have a team member put the shirt on. The first team to get the shirt on wins.
This monster slip and slide just need a big long tarp and some water (and maybe a tiny bit of oil) to have fun for days. Just be careful– this can get dangerous really easily.
13. Water balloon pinata
Stay cool by smacking at stuff in the summer time. Because nothing is more fun than a balloon filled with water, exploding all over you.
14. Sponge water bombs
Make easy water bombs by cutting up sponges and tying them together.
15. And finally…your very own oasis
Have a blast by getting as wet (or staying as dry) as you want. This has got to be one way to spend your summer in style.
