The American artist Josh Lynch had the awesome idea to create a series of illustrations in which he transformed the most famous Marvel superheroes and villains into various cool dog breeds. Can you imagine Captain America as a Pug?! Or how about Cyclops as a Labrador?! Iron-Man as a minuscule Chihuahua?! Of course you can’t, but after this article, you definitely will. Here is a special selection of the best Marvel superheroes and villains as dogs. Enjoy!

#1 Cyclops, Labrador

The infamous cyclops is a lovely labrador in this creative illustration – don’t you think it’s just the perfect combination? If we came across a labrador on the street with lasers as eyes, though, things would definitely get a little crazy.


#2 Ghost Rider, Pinscher

In the Marvel comics, the first supernatural Ghost Rider is the motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who, in order to save the life of his father, agreed to give his soul to “Satan”, and here he is portrayed as a little Pinscher dog.


#3 Mr. Fantastic, Dachshund

The dachshund is a short-legged and long-bodied dog breed belonging to the hound family, and here’s one portrayed as the amazing Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic Four. We love this!


#4 Doctor Strange, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange, well known as Doctor Strange, is a fictional character of Marvel Comics. He is a former neurosurgeon who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, the primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats. Here he is, as a lovely Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.


#5 Hulk, English Bulldog

The incredible strong and green Hulk would of course be portrayed as an English bulldog, right?! Of course, the size is not the same, but if the Hulk just happened to be a dog, he’d definitely be a bulldog.


#6 Iron Man, Chihuahua

Perhaps Tony Stark wouldn’t be happy to be compared to a little chihuahua, the smallest breed of dog, but the illustration is definitely rather hilarious. Can you imagine if Iron Man was actually a tiny chihuahua?!


#7 Doc Ock, French Bulldog

Doctor Octopus, also known as Doc Ock, is a supervillain created by Marvel Comics and one of the worst enemies of the incredible Spider Man. Here he is, portrayed as a lovely French bulldog with tentacles. Amazing, right?!


#8 Silver Surfer, Greyhound

The Greyhound is an old breed of dog, a sight-hound which has been historically bred for Greyhound racing. It’s the perfect choice of dog to portray the Silver Surfer.

Not so different from his his enemy, the evil Doctor Octopus, the incredible Spider Man in this illustration series is portrayed as a lovely Pug.


#10 Thor, Golden Retriever

In Norse mythology, Thor is a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms and strengh, and here he is… just as a lovely and friendly Golden Retriever. Not bad!


#11 Wolverine, French Bulldog

Wolverine is one of the most well known characters created by the Marvel Universe, and let’s be honest – he doesn’t look bad at all as a French bulldog! A French bulldog that loves Cuban cigars, that is.


#12 MODOK, Pug

M.O.D.O.K.; acronym for Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing, is a fictional super-villain from Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in Tales of Suspense #93 in September, 1967, and was created by Stan Lee. Here he is, as an adorable little Pug!


#13 Thanos, English Bulldog

Thanos is a fictional supervillain created by Marvel Comics and the artist Jim Starlin. Debuting in the Bronze Age of Comic Books, the character has been featured in over four decades of Marvel continuity and has a self-titled series. Here, the evil Thanos is merely a mad English Bulldog.


#14 The Punisher, Pug

The Punisher is a vigilante who employs threats of violence and torture in his war against the crime. Driven mad by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob during a shootout in New York City’s Central Park, who could possibly imagine the tough Punisher as an adorable Pug?!


#15 Jubilee, Yorkshire Terrier

Jubilee is a mutant with the superhuman power to generate pyrotechnic energy plasmoids from her hands. A teenage “mall rat,” she was the X-Men’s youngest member in the 90’s, and here she is portrayed as a cute Yorkshire Terrier.


#16 Red Skull & Captain America, Pug

Here’s one of the most famous heroes of the Marvel Universe – Captain America, portrayed as a Pug, and his arch-enemy Dr. Skull, who has been cleverly re-created as a cat.

Galactus is another amazing character created by Stan Lee, and his first appearance was in The Fantastic Four. Galactus was depicted as a god-like figure who feeds by draining living planets of their energy.
