Open only from May 1 to October 31 every year, Berggasthaus Aescher is 4,770 feet above sea level.  This cliff-side restaurant offers hikers with wonderful views of the Alpstein area in Wasserauen, Switzerland.

#4 Surrounded by Snow – Snow Restaurant in Kemi, Finland

Found in Kemi Finland, Snow Restaurant is stationed inside the LumiLinna Snowcastle.  Rebuilt yearly, the Snow Restaurant opens at the end of January and is always about -5 degrees Celsius.  Bring your winter coats and order some soup!

#5 On Top of a Rock -The Rock in Zanzibar, Tanzania

Found on the southeast part of Zanzibar Island on Michamwi Pingwe peninsula of Tanzania, The Rock is located on top of a rock not very far from the shore.  You can get to the restaurant on foot when it is low tide or by boat when it is high tide.

Found 16 feet below sea level, the Maldives’ Ithaa Restaurant has 180-degree views of the sea while you eat.  Part of the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island Resort, it is particularly one of the more interesting dining experiences anywhere in the world.

#7 Inside a Bank Vault – The Bedford in Chicago, U.S.A.

Found in Wicker Park of Chicago, The Bedford is a reclaimed historic private bank changed into a supper club.  Its 8,000 square feet interior has marble, terracotta, and terrazzo.  In its VIP vault room, the walls are lined using 6,000 copper lock boxes.  Channel your inner Oceans 11 when you eat here!

#8 Up in the Clouds – Dinner in the Sky

Dinner in the Sky is not solely found in 1 country but in 40.  The restaurant is hosted on a table suspended 50 meters up in the air by a group of professionals, which can be installed anywhere in the world.  This table is available for 8 hours and can have up to 22 people at the table, with the chef, waiter, and entertainer.  Not for the fainthearted!

#9 Inside a Cave and Overlooking the Water – Grotta Palazzese in Polignano a Mare, Italy

In the southern Italian town of Polignano a Mare lies Grotta Palazzese.  This restaurant was built inside a vaulted limestone cave, overlooking the sea.  Part of the Palazzese hotel, this restaurant is open only in the summer.
