A terrifying series of explosions in an industrial area of the city of Tianjin, situated in the northeast of China, shook the entire country last Wednesday, on August 12th. According to a local Chinese news agency, more than 600 people were injured in the accident, and almost 100 were killed due to the flames and/or impact caused by the huge explosions. According to this news agency, the explosions were caused by flammable and explosive materials which were stored in containers. The shock wave through the air displacement was felt, kilometers away from the scene. Residents of nearby districts also said that the impact of the explosion shattered their windows, and columns of smoke and flames were seen for miles.
